Consultation

First we visit with you at your choice of location. You tell us about your tastes, about your desires, about yourselves. You show us pictures of rings you like, from the web, from magazines, etc. We show you books of artful rings and catalogue pictures of our work.

We then make drawings based on your ideas and choices.

Preliminary Rings

Usually we start by making preliminary rings in Sterling silver to test size, fit and feel on your hand. if you are happy a mold is prepared and the final rings are cast in your choice of metal (silver, gold, platinum, titanium). A nice final touch can be personalized engraved inscriptions.

 

 

Gems

Precious and semiprecious gems are purchased from reputable dealers. A certificate of purchase and authenticity is provided. We love to use unusual alternative gems such as colored diamonds, diamonds in the rough, sapphires, rubies, emeralds and more. Finally the rings are cleaned and presented in high end black velvet boxes. They can be hand delivered or sent overnight.

Pricing

Pricing is highly competitive compared with rings obtained from retail jewelry stores. Inquiry by phone or email is recommended.

Maidstone Jewelry is about the beauty of the beach stones, that are at the core of our collection. We find our stones on the beaches of East Hampton. They inspire us and lead to new ideas. Between the land and the ocean there is a constant dance. It takes thousands of years for nature to patiently craft every stone at our feet.  With wonder and respect we work to highlight and display the qualities of the stones we choose.

David Posnett has been studying jewelry, gold and silver smithing at The 92nd Street Y in New York with Honey Jeanne Laber, Klaus Buergel and Jonathan Wahl since 2001. He is a member of the East End Arts Council and the South Fork Craftsmen's Guild.
